The Indian Premier League in 2023 (IPL 2023 , IPL 16)

The Indian Premier League in 2023 (also known as TATA IPL 2023 for sponsorship reasons and sometimes referred as IPL 2023 or IPL 16)

After a four-year hiatus, the league went back to its former home-and-away format.

The preceding three seasons were staged at neutral locations because to the COVID-19 Pandemic. 45 locations are hosting "fan parks," which were last held in 2019. An opening ceremony was held for the first time since the epidemic.

During the season, many new legislation have been introduced:

-If an unfair movement by a fielder or wicketkeeper happens during the delivery of the ball and before to the batter receiving it, there is a five run penalty. Also announced will be the dead ball.

-Teams are not required to be announced until after the coin toss.

-An "Impact Player" regulation that permits teams to replace a player during a game from a list of four replacements.

-For the remainder of the inning, only four fielders are permitted outside the fielding limitations circle if a team fails to complete its 20 overs in the allotted time.

-Teams can use the Decision Review System to evaluate balls for wides and no-balls (DRS). The Women's Premier League in 2023 saw the debut of this modification.

There will be a league stage.

Twelve Indian locations will host the league round of the competition, however the playoff portion of the schedule has not yet been revealed. While Dharamsala will be making its return to the IPL after ten years and will host the final two Punjab Kings home games after they play their first five home games at Mohali, the Assam Cricket Association Stadium, Guwahati will be making its IPL debut and will host the first two Rajasthan Royals home games before they play their remaining five home games at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. All of the home games for the other eight clubs will be played at those teams' customary venues.

There are two categories made up of teams (A and B). Each club will play 7 home and away games, twice taking on the teams from the opposing group. Teams from the same group will face off against one another. There will be a total of 70 games scheduled around the nation at 12 stadiums.
